Tour description

This private tour heads west out of Reykjavik enjoying steep, rugged mountains on one side and ocean on the other. Leaving the capital area we go below sea level as we cross the Whalefjord via tunnel.  We visit the unusual waterfalls of Hraunfossar and Barnafoss and take a look at one of the world’s largest hot springs, Deildartunguhver. There are great lava caves to explore before driving towards Langjokull ice cap. It is always breathtaking to look at the vastness of the icecap, and even more so to drive up the snowy slopes.

Additional options:

  • Lava caves: Víðgelmir is the largest of all caves in Iceland, 148,000 cubic metres, and one of the largest lava caves in the world. It has beautiful ice formations and deep inside there are lava stalactites and stalagmites.
  • Into the Glacier tour:
The man – made ice cave. The ice tunnel and the caves are located high on Europe‘s second largest glacier, Langjökull. You will get an amazing opportunity to explore the glacier and see it from the inside. This is once in a lifetime experience where you will be taken to the hidden beautiful ice.

Note: If additional options are selected the schedule might change slightly
