About this experience

Discover the magical wonderland of Lake Myvatn and Godafoss Waterfall with an experienced local tour guide on a private tour. We can customize your tour as it is a private tour! Usually we set off from Akureryi Port stopping at the stunning Godafoss waterfall and then onto the famous Lake Myvatn area. in Lake Myvatn area we visit the Dimmuborgir Lava formations and the Námafjall area where you can view the bubbling Hverir Mud pools and Natural steam vents or fumaroles and visit Grjotagja cave and rift instead. If ther is time we can also stop at Myvatn Nature Baths where you can enjoy the baths and cafe (Please note the entrance fee to the Nature Baths is NOT included). We will pick you up and drop you off to the Port in Akureyri where you dock.

Itinerary

  1. Tour stop

    We visit the stunning Godafoss waterfall, the 'Waterfall of the Gods' on our way from Akureyri to Lake Myvatn

  2. Tour stop

    We visit the main sites in Lake Myvatn including Námaskarð where you can see the bubbling Hverir mud pools and natural steam vents (fumaroles), the Dimmuborgir Lava formations and the Myvatn Nature Baths (please note the entrance fee to the Nature Baths is not included). For those who do not want to use the Nature Baths we can take you to Grotcaja cave and rift while others use the Nature Baths.

  3. Tour stop

    We stop at the Nature Baths to enjoy the baths and cafe. (Please note the entrance fee to the Nature Baths is not included) for entrance fee prices check

  4. Tour stop

    We stop at the Námaskarð area where you can view the bubbling Hverir Mud pools and pots and the Natural steam vents (fumaroles)

  5. Tour stop

    We visit the beautiful lava formations in an area also known as the 'Dark Castle'

  6. Tour stop

    We visit this old bathing cave and part of the rift between the Eurasian & American Continents
