About this experience

Jökulsarlón and Fjallárslón are glacier lagoon at the south end of the glacier of Vatnajökull the biggest glacier in Europe, between the Skaftafell preservation area in Vatnajökull National Park and Höfn. Jokuslarlon Glacier Lagoon is next to the Icelandic Ring Road. The lake is filled with icebergs, which are calving off the Breidamerkurjokull Glacier. We recommend pre-booking to guarantee availability upon arrival. The lagoon has a vast amount of floating icebergs that have broken off Vatnajökull, Europe’s biggest glacier, and floats towards the ocean. Along the way, we will stop at some of the most popular attractions along the South Coast like Seljalandsfoss waterfall, Skógafoss Waterfall and Reynisfjara Black Beach.

Thus, as lava cools to form basalt, it may crack in a hexagonal (or other) shape and form columns. Reynisfjara Black Beach has really powerful waves that have helped shaped the amazing cliffs.
