The Fjallabak road is a rugged and scenic highland route in Iceland, winding through the Fjallabak Nature Reserve, which is known for its colorful rhyolite mountains, black sand deserts, volcanic landscapes, and geothermal areas. This F-road (mountain road) is only accessible with 4x4 vehicles and takes travelers deep into Iceland’s wild, untouched interior. Along the way, we will cross rivers, marvel at the iconic Maelifell volcano, and explore stunning locations like Rauðubotnar and Álftavatn, each offering breathtaking landscapes that feel like another world.
