Instead of simply stopping at the major sights, the tour also includes lesser-known gems such as Gljúfrabúi waterfall and a close-up visit to Sólheimajökull glacier. 1. Tour stop

   We make a stop at the majestic Skógafoss, where water plunges powerfully from a height of 60 meters.

2. Tour stop

   This small coastal village is the only one of its kind in the country since it has no harbor. From the church, we can take amazing photos of a fantastic panoramic view not only over the village but also the coast beyond.

3. Tour stop

   Having then reached our most Southern point, we are about to turn and make our way back to the must-see black sand beach of Reynisfjara where we spend some time exploring and soaking up the atmosphere of these dramatic environs. The sight of the mighty North Atlantic, as it crashes onto the black sands, makes for a powerful and unforgettable image!

4. Tour stop

   Back on the Viking Trail we go, taking the coast road again and heading towards Sólheimajökull Glacier, a stunning outlet glacier extending from the larger Mýrdalsjökull ice cap. This ever-changing landscape of ice and volcanic ash showcases deep crevasses, striking blue ice formations, and rugged ridges shaped by Iceland’s dynamic climate. As one of the country’s most accessible glaciers, it offers a unique opportunity to witness the effects of glacial movement and climate change up close.

5. Tour stop

   Then it’s back on the road to hunt down yet another of Iceland’s famous waterfalls; this time it’s the ever-popular Seljalandsfoss waterfall where, and if conditions allow, we take a walk behind the waterfall’s curtain before paying a visit to its nearby cousin Gljúfrabúi, found hidden from view in the mountainside.
