Iceland gets cold, and it gets wet, and the wind makes both of those worse. Most people who end up miserable here aren't unlucky. They just brought a jacket that was fine at home and no idea that the forecast doesn't tell the whole story.
That's the problem this package solves. You arrive, you pick up your gear in downtown Reykjavík, and you stop thinking about the weather for the rest of your trip.
You get a winter parka, waterproof outdoor pants, hiking boots, a beanie, winter gloves, a neck gaiter, and crampons that slip over your boots for icy pavements. That's your whole outer layer covered. You bring your own base layers, we handle everything that goes over them.
We'll fit you when you come in. We usually suggest going one size up on the parka and the pants so there's room for layers underneath, and we're always happy to look at your itinerary and tell you honestly what the conditions are likely to be. We live here. We know what a yellow warning actually feels like when you're standing at a waterfall.
Renting also means you're not buying a parka you'll wear once, and you're not giving up half your suitcase to carry it.
