Northern Lights ATV Quad Adventure from Reykjavik

This quad biking tour offers a unique opportunity to experience the Icelandic wilderness at night, providing an ideal setting for observing the Northern Lights. This excursion includes a scenic drive on an ATV, with panoramic views of Reykjavík and Mosfellsbær. We will also take time to appreciate the stars and, weather permitting, look for shooting stars while anticipating the appearance of the Northern Lights.

We provide convenient pick-up services from all hotels within the Reykjavík area. Please be aware that designated non-pickup zones exist for tourists in downtown Reykjavík; in such cases, we will arrange pick-up from special tourist bus stops, which are typically located nearby. Alternatively, you are welcome to meet us directly at our basecamp, situated just 20 minutes from downtown Reykjavík.

Itinerary

1. Tour stop

   This quad biking tour takes you to see the Northern Lights by the beautiful Hafravatn lake and Mount Hafrafell. If it is possible to go to the mountain you will also have a great view over Reykjavik, Mosfellsbær and other towns close by. We only go if there is possibility for clear sky. Join this tour for a unique experience of driving an ATV at night to hunt for the Northern Lights. Follow a guide along rugged trails through the Icelandic countryside and discover top natural sites of interest including Hafravatn Lake and Mt. Hafrafell. Enjoy panoramic views over to nearby towns such as Mosfellsbær. If we have to wait for the lights we do starchasing and look for "shooting stars" to make the wish for endless whisses. In this tour you can go Single Ride or Double Ride. Double Ride is the standard rate and that means two people are on each quad. You can select "Single Ride" in the booking progress and pay a little extra if you dont want to share the Quad and go single ride to the tour.

Know before you go

• Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries
• Not recommended for pregnant travelers
• Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health
• Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
• Bring Phone with good camera with you. The newest phones can capture the Northern Lights but not the old one. We recommend Iphone 11 or better, the new Google phone and other with night mode or possibilities of few seconds open shutter mode.
• Drivers need full drivers license to drive the ATV´s. Passenger can be from 6 years old.
• We recommend to wear all your layers, warm shoes and socks, have handwarmers and footwarmers and scarf or good buff for your neck. It can be cold on the Quads.
